Everyone wants to design their house in the best and beautiful ways. Thereby from the modular kitchen to attractive furniture, everything should follow strategic planning and contemplation. But when it comes to flooring, what should be the right choice? However, there are multiple types of flooring present in the market that are confusing to make the final decision. Are you also confused affiliated with the same? What is the most popular flooring you have heard so far? Most probably PVC flooring and Vinyl flooring, right?

Now a question pops up in my mind: what is the difference between PVC flooring and Vinyl flooring? Most of the things get dilapidated over time, but flooring is one of those durable things in the house that is supposed to last longer. Hence, it is essential to know everything about PVC or Vinyl flooring before you plan to use it in flooring.

What is PVC flooring?

PVC is an acronym for polyvinyl chloride. Its production and uses in bulk have made it the third-most produced plastic polymer across the world, which is used for multiple applications such as siding, piping, flooring, and installation.

What is the difference between PVC flooring and Vinyl flooring?

There is no difference between Vinyl and PVC flooring, both are interchangeable terms for the same product. Vinyl flooring is another name for PVC flooring. Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC Vinyl Sheet) is widely used all around the world in the design, application, and installation of numerous supplies. Thus, considering its uses, durability, water resistance, easy installation, and easy to maintain features have made people prioritize it in flooring.

What are the different types of PVC aka Vinyl flooring?

Before buying Vinyl sheet rolls, you need to go through the types of PVC (Vinyl) flooring. There are three types of PVC depending on the pattern, durability, flexibility, and price. All are mentioned below for your ease.

Sheet Vinyl.

Super durable and comparatively cheap PVC Vinyl flooring is the Vinyl Sheet flooring. It comes with a specific pattern that was practised years ago and therefore it is now termed an old-fashioned Pattern vinyl sheet.

Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP)

Have you ever heard about WPC (wood plastic composite), EVP (Engineered Vinyl Plank), and SPC (Stone Plastic Composite)? All these are the types of Vinyl plank. If you want hardwood-designed flooring at a low cost, go for it!

Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT)

This water-resistant PVC Vinyl sheet has the same properties as that of Vinyl plank. It is available in both- flexible and rigid- contexts.

Why should you go for PVC Vinyl flooring?

Features of PVC (Vinyl) flooring

  1. As compared to plywood and hardwood, PVC flooring installation is easy.

  2. If the material you are using has joints, it will seep water and therefore damage the sub-floor. But PVC Vinyl flooring has no such problems to ponder upon.

  3. It is moisture and water-resistant.

  4. You can easily clean oil, acids, grease, and any other spillage.

  5. It is lightweight and needs very little maintenance.

  6. Harmless for human health because of VOC (Volatile Organic Compound).
